Award Information

Through video, essays, or artwork, applicants can share what being Italian-American means to them — whether it’s food, family, language, traditions, or community. We’re not looking for perfection, but for heart, creativity, and pride.

Submission Types 

   Who can apply?

  • Girls currently in grades 3-8 for the 2025-2026 school year

  • Must go to school in Brooklyn, NY

💡 Important Notes

  • All submissions must be the student’s original work

  • Submissions should reflect personal experiences, traditions, or cultural pride

  • Creativity is encouraged—there is no “right” way to participate

and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any school or school district

  Not sure where to start? Students can draw inspiration from topics such as:

• “Describe a Sunday meal or family gathering that represents your Italian heritage.”
• “What is a tradition in your family that you hope to pass down one day?”
• “How does being Italian-American inspire your creativity?”
• “Tell the story of a recipe, tradition, or lesson passed down in your family.”
